Keeper Andrew Fisher enjoyed his best performance yet in an MK Dons shirt as he helped the team to a 2-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday.

As the Black Cats piled on the pressure in the closing stages of the game at the Stadium of Light, Fisher made three excellent saved to keep out the home side, including one brilliant denial which had taken a deflection off Richard Keogh.

There was little he could do about Max Power's opener too, with the captain's strike taking a deflection off Warren O'Hora to send him the wrong way after 12 minutes.

"Fisher helped us out a few times, and he did that brilliantly," said Martin afterwards. "He made one, the best one, with his feet diving the wrong way, and then another when he got across brilliantly but there was a foul on Warren. We've got fantastic competition."

The man Fisher has replaced in goal though, Lee Nicholls, was needed to fill a different job for Martin though. With Luke Williams and Dean Thornton still self-isolating, Martin said: "Lee Nicholls was screaming information to people from the bench because my staff is still in isolation. Baily (Cargill) and Lee and the spots science guys were incredible, willing the guys to go on. And that's the culture we need, everyone of them should be so pleased today."
