Brittain and Mason set to be announced in 24 hours

He hinted at it on Saturday, but MK Dons boss Russell Martin confirmed Monday Callum Brittain and Joe Mason are to be re-signed within 24 hours.

The pair were out of contract at the end of last season, and while Brittain was offered a new deal, Mason was deemed first choice should the finances allow it.

With the departures of Conor McGrandles and Alex Gilbey, that money has since become available - also allowing the return of Ben Gladwin - for Mason to become a part of the squad once more, while Brittain has taken up the club's offer of an extended deal to keep him at the club.

"We'll have some news in the next 24 hours with them," Martin said on Monday. "All being well, we'll see them back in the squad and back with us. They're both excellent players, characters and players I've really enjoyed working with."
