For the first time in years, transfer deadline day needs to be a busy one for MK Dons.

Despite six leaving, four incoming, a loan deal made permanent and two contract extensions, there is still work to be done until the 11pm deadline to get the squad into shape for the remainder of the campaign.

Russell Martin has made no secret of his need for defenders - he'll be aiming for at least two - and a striker to bolster his team before the window closes tonight. Coming away with one of each would not be the worst case scenario, though it would leave the defence still underweight for the final four months.

Rumours have seen Dons linked with defender Zac Jules of Walsall, and with Sunderland striker Will Grigg - though this was unceremoniously shot down by Martin last week, with the Black Cars in action twice at Stadium MK this coming week.

Matthew Sorinola has also been linked with a move away from Dons, but Martin is eager to keep hold of the 19-year-old, who scored his first league goal in the 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane on Saturday.

The future of Kieran Agard also remains up in the air, with the striker making just one appearance this season.

Keeping hold of Martin's prized assets will be equally as strong a move on deadline day as signing key characters for his dressing room will be, while preparing for the Papa John's Trophy quarter final tomorrow night too.

The Dons boss will be holding his pre-match press conference at 11am.
