Jake Buxton felt his side should have had more goals as Burton left Stadium MK with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Colin Daniel gave Burton the lead after just eight minutes, but the visitors did not add to their tally, despite a poor opening 45 minutes from Dons.

Scott Fraser earned the home side a share of the spoils from the penalty spot with 16 minutes to go, but the Burton boss felt his side did more than enough to win the game.

“To create the amount of opportunities that we did, from good shape and pressing to get after MK Dons, we’re disappointed not to get two goals, if not three,” said Buxton.

“As the game goes along, if you don’t get that second goal then you’re going to invite pressure. All in all I’m happy with the performance but we just need three points with the situation we’re in and today it’s another game, the same as the Shrewsbury game, the same as the Sunderland game, the same as the Crewe game, that we should have taken three points.

“It’s very encouraging in terms of the performance - the lad’s application to doing their job was correct.

“They worked their socks off, with loads and loads of effort, loads of work rate and their attitude was correct, but we lacked a bit of quality in the final third.

“The formation and shape was correct and that’s why we’re getting results - ultimately we needed three points, but I’m still pleased.

"The back four and Kieran O’Hara deserved a clean sheet – the whole side are working hard to do so.

“Today I’ve got no problems, we just need to be a bit more clinical.”
