Dons' frontline looks set to be completely different next season.

None of Will Grigg, Cameron Jerome or Joe Mason are under contract with the club for next year, Russell Martin faces going into the new campaign with just Charlie Brown on his books.

"It's an area we're looking at every day in terms of the options available, but also trying to keep the ones we've got," said the manager.

"It's going to be a big area for us, that top end of the pitch. There will be a lot of change between now and when we come back for pre-season, but we'll put in all the work now to make sure when we come back we do have the ones we want, and we'll do everything we can to keep the guys we want to keep as well.

"Grigg is on loan, Cammy's contract will be up and he wants to assess his options and Joe Mason's contract is up as well so we'll need to talk about that at some stage we well. The only one that is contracted next year is Charlie Brown."

Having spoken of his desire to sign Grigg in the summer on Saturday, Martin said any potential to land the 29-year-old from Sunderland will depend on the fate of the Black Cats and their promotion push.

He continued: "Sunderland could get promoted and I don't know how much that changes his contract situation or their feelings about things. We will have a chat with Sunderland at the end of the season when we know their situation and ours, and obviously with Griggy as well. Lots of things need to fall into place, but we'd like to keep him."

Mason's future seems the most 'up in the air' this summer, with the striker limited to just 15 starts this season but there remains a chance Martin offers him another extension to keep him for a third term.

He said: "Mase hasn't played as much football as he'd have liked to so it's a conversation we need to have with him, but he knows how highly we rate him."
