In a game of few chances, Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Moore said his side took the clearest one as they beat MK Dons 1-0 on Saturday.

Jacob Ramsey netted Jon Taylor's cross midway through the second half to secure the win for Rovers as they climbed to ninth in League One, while Dons remain 18th with only their second defeat at home since November.

“We knew it was going to be tough and not easy,” Moore said afterwards. “When I look back at the game there was one real clear cut chance and we took it.

“I said to the boys in the week that because it was likely to be a tight game because they want to play football and we do too, we might even win it from a set play.

“We worked hard on our set plays in the week because we thought if the game is going to be about cancelling each other out then we’d need to capitalise on a set play.

“We got the goal through open play and it was about doing our jobs after that and they did it.

“You could see why their home record is so impressive because they manage the ball really well and they ask questions of the opposition."
