Callum Brittain and Joe Mason are set to return to the MK Dons next week after manager Russell Martin implied at a couple of comeback signings.

Both are known to have contract offers from the club after their previous deals expired at the end of last season but as yet neither returns have been confirmed.

Martin has already added three new bodies to his defence in the form of Richard Keogh, Daniel Harvie and Warren O'Hora but is known to want to keep Brittain, while Mason has been on the manager's wishlist since his departure was announced in June.

Speaking on Saturday after Dons' 3-2 defeat to Coventry City in a pre-season friendly, Martin implied the pair could return this week along with some new faces too.

"I think so and I hope so," he said. "There will be a couple more next week who we really are looking forward to having back with the group. And some new ones as well to add to the group.

"It's a long process. I want everyone through the door for the first day of pre-season but it doesn't work like that."
