Russell Martin is keeping tabs on his loan players, but is not getting too involved.

Sam Nombe is currently at Luton Town and Hiram Boateng is plying his trade for Cambridge United and though the Dons boss is up-to-speed with the duo, he admitted he is not in regular contact with either.

He said: "You can't keep regular contact because you have to respect they're playing for someone else with different ideas. But you stay in touch.

"I spoke to Sam last week, and (Luton boss) Nathan Jones to see how he's progressing. He seems to be growing and doing well, getting more game time.

"When Hiram got injured, I sent him a text to see if he was ok, and when Cambridge wanted to extend his deal, we had a quick catch-up. Hiram has made a real impact at Cambridge, they're really pleased with him and he's playing regular football which is what he wanted.

"It's good for those guys to be out there. They're our players, so it's important we stay up tp speed with them, but we'll get them back at the end of the season and see what happens after that."
