“I hadn’t played too much football before coming here but I’ve slowly found my fitness and really enjoyed being a part of things here.

“I don’t think I could be at a better club, especially in League One, to play the way I want to play.

“We’ve had a good month or so in terms of results so things are certainly looking promising and it’s a good thing to be a part of.”

Manager Russell Martin added: "Andrew has really started to show what he's about in the last few games, now that he's getting back to match fitness after a long time out.

"He gives us so much control and so much composure in the middle of the pitch. He brings an air of calm and assurance to the team. He very rarely loses the ball and he always knows what the situation is. I know that the other players like playing with him.

"He's really bought into what we're doing here and I know he's really enjoying his time here. I'm really pleased that Andrew is staying and I'm sure the fans will be too."
