Referee Jonathan Moss and Burnley are all used to the use of VAR, but for MK Dons, this weekend's third round game at Turf Moor will be the first time they have played with it.

Often a source of controversy, VAR has been in use in the Premier League for a while, with even the most innocuous of incidents thrust under the microscope to potentially rule out goals.

With the added eyes on the game, Russell Martin admitted he has warned his players to be aware of everything they do on and off the ball.

"It is something we have spoken about because there are things we have to be aware of," he said, "There are things we have to do a bit differently. It was important to make them aware and the implications of it for us. It shouldn't change too much, but there are bits we have to keep on top of and do properly. It will be interesting, and I hope we get a goal confirmed by VAR because it'll mean we've scored!

"We've had to tell them about physical contact when marking, or running with people – there are a lot of things you don't see which go on off the ball. It's not dark arts of sinister stuff at all, but you just have to be a bit more clever. There is not a minute to switch off, defensively in particular."
