Russell Martin fancies runs in both the FA Cup and the Papa John's Trophy this season.

Dons head to National League side Barnet on Sunday for the FA Cup second round clash at The Hive, before taking on Norwich U21s in the second round of the Papa John's Trophy a week on Tuesday.

Barnet sit 18th in the National League - two divisions below League One - and are without a win since their first round triumph over Burton Albion.

With top-flight clubs entering the draw on Monday night at the third round stage, Martin said the incentive to get a positive result on Sunday is huge, as is the carrot at the end of the stick in the Papa Johns Trophy.

"I just want to keep the momentum going, our form going in terms of results," he said. "Every game is a chance for us to do better. We have a great chance to go to Barnet on Sunday, win a game and see what comes. It's exciting. The FA Cup is always a great competition, as well as the Papa John's Trophy and ones we want to do well in."

After admitting his four changes to the side were perhaps a few too many on Tuesday in the 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury, Martin confirmed he would be making more changes for the trip to Barnet. But with three games in six days, he said those changes were essential.

He continued: "We'll have to make a few changes of course, because we've got three games in six days, so we'll have to rest people and I know that's frustrating for everyone, because we all want to see the best 11 players on the pitch, but it's a chance for people to show what they're about.

"We'll go with a strong team to try and win it."
