Dons to face Championship Coventry in Carabao Cup

MK Dons will kick off their season with a home game against League One champions Coventry City in the Carabao Cup.

Paul Merson drew the fixture out of the hat on Tuesday morning for the opening round of the competition.

Dons met the Sky Blues three times last season, twice drawing in league action, while beating them 2-0 in the Leasing.com Trophy at Stadium MK.

Historically, there is nothing to separate the sides, with each claiming victory four times, with four draws too.

A date for the fixture is yet to be announced.
