Dons want to keep up their momentum as they head into the cup competitions

Some of Dons’ fringe players are likely to be given a run out in the next two games, but Russell Martin is keen to maintain the club’s recent momentum.
Having picked up five points in their last three games, their attentions switch to cup duties, with a trip to National League side Eastleigh in the FA Cup on Sunday before the EFL Trophy game against Southampton U21s next Wednesday at Stadium MK.

“We’re building a bit of momentum and belief,” he said after his side’s 0-0 draw with Northampton on Tuesday night.
“Teams are adapting to what we’re doing and making things hard for us, but I’d love another league game. It will be a different test.
“We’ve got a lot of tired bodies in there – Cameron Jerome, Scott Fraser, Richard Keogh.

“We have to manage everyone over this period, but we want to win these games and build a bit more momentum.
“We’ve got two games coming up now, and if players get a chance they have to take it. We’re getting a more consistent team now.”
