Door is open for Aneke to return to Dons squad

With the loan window closing on Friday afternoon, the 25-year-old will have to stay at MK Dons until at least January before he can make a move away.

However, having barely trained with the first team this season, Paul Tisdale says there's still a chance for Aneke to turn things around before the next window.

"Chuks will be back in training on Monday and will be back in the mix with everyone," said Tisdale after Dons' 1-1 draw with Swindon. "He will have to focus on what's in front of him for the next four months. Lots can happen before the next window.

"I've arrived at the club within a transfer window, and now that's closed. But I'm not going to shut any doors, I won't make any promises. I'm very philosophical about what all the players can bring."

One player who did leave during the window though was Robbie Muirhead. The Scot moved back north of the border with Dunfermline.

Tisdale confirmed Muirhead had been seeking a move away from MK Dons all summer.

He said: "Robbie has moved back to Scotland – he's one of the players, when I arrived, who was discussing whether he was going to stay or not. I would've wondered whether there were a player or two to have left over the last few months, but Robbie has gone and it's now a start of a transition process."
