Emery bags a hat-trick in Newport Pagnell victory

Emery's trio has scored nine goals in nine appearances since his return to Willen Road this season as Newport's undefeated record in the UCL Premier Division continued on Saturday.

The striker scored the first goal of his triple after 14 minutes when he latched on Harry Stratton's pass, rounding keeper Ryan Elliot to tap home.

They could have extended their lead before half time but Stratton, Taylor Orosz, Alex Marius and Fazal Koriya saw shots blocked by the St Andrews defence, while the visitors barely threatened.

Nine minutes into the second half, Emery doubled his and Newport's tally before turning provider three minutes later as he teed up Koriya to tap home the hosts' third, and his tenth of the campaign so far.

Emery completed his hat-trick with 16 minutes to go when he headed home Ollie Wilkinson's cross.

Darren Lynch's side remain undefeated in the league, and sit second a point behind Leicester Nirvana with a game in hand.
