Everton's Brendan Galloway admits he is excited to be returning to Stadium MK for the first time when his side take on MK Dons tonight (Tuesday).

The 20-year-old left Dons for the Toffees in 2014 and has flirted with the first team, making 21 appearances under former boss Roberto Martinez.

Having spent his formative years in and around Karl Robinson’s squad at Dons, Galloway says he is excited to see some familiar faces when the sides meet in a pre-season friendly at Stadium MK.

“It’ll be a bit weird having not been in the stadium for a long time,” he said. “It’ll be nice to go back as an away player and it will be a different experience but one I’m looking forward to.

“It’ll be good. I played there a lot and know the manager and players very well. It’s about us as a team getting our fitness back and winning the game.

“I’ve got a lot of friends still at the club, but it’s also my home town so my friend and family will be coming to the game. It’ll be good to catch up with a few old faces.”

Everton got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start on Saturday, with Ronald Koeman’s side beating Barnsley 3-0. Galloway played the second half at Oakwell, replacing Ramiro Funes Mori.

Dons have played seven friendlies this summer, most recently coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Aldershot on Saturday, thanks to goals from Nicky Maynard and Giorgio Rasulo.

And though results mean nothing at this stage, Galloway isn’t expecting an easy game against his former club.

He said: “I remember the game against Tottenham a few years ago, we came out and gave them a right good go, and we ended up beating them.

“It won’t be an easy game. Dons will come out and have a point to prove.”
