First team experience is proving vital for Freeman
Becoming engrained in the first team squad has come a lot quicker than John Freeman expected.
The 19-year-old has become a more regular name on Dons' team-sheet this season, making four appearances this campaign across three competitions so far.

"From being the 19th man or being out the squad you have a role to play anyway, you have a big role in the result on the weekend.
"In the academy you try replicate it as much as you can but there is nothing quite like it. The tempo and the demands are a lot higher. All the boys were really welcoming and I feel like I’m comfortable now and in the group.
"Being on the bench and seeing it from there and maybe coming on to make an impact is so exciting and new to me. It’s come sooner than expected, I never really expected anything to be fair. And I’ve learnt that in football because it’s a weird and wonderful game.
"I’ve told myself get my head down and work hard, that’ll get me an opportunity and I wanted to take that when it comes."
