Goalkeeper Andrew Fisher felt he could have kept a third clean-sheet in five games but for a cruel deflection at Sunderland.

Max Power's 12th-minute shot came off Warren O'Hora, sending it the wrong way past Fisher's dive as the Black Cats took the lead.

Dons responded almost immediately though when Cameron Jerome headed home Ben Gladwin's free-kick four minutes later.

He said: "It's one of those, I don't know who it came off but I had the save before the defection. It happens, but it was a good reaction from the lads to go and get the goal and win in the end."

Having taken the lead early in the second half through Scott Fraser's penalty, Fisher would put in a man of the match performance between the sticks, making three excellent saves to deny the home side an equaliser as Dons held on to claim their first away win in 14 months.

Fisher also made amends for the earlier goal, making fantastic block after another deflected effort, this time off Richard Keogh.

He said: "It was another deflected one! It was just pure reflexes, I stuck my leg out and it got my big toe. At the end of the game, it's nice to have made a few saves but we don't want shots on target. You can't stop that sometimes though, it's inevitable but it's my job to keep us in the game.

"It's a massive win, we were excellent throughout, defended well in the second half and overall we deserved the win. There were some really experienced players in the team who organised the team and kept us in it, organised the team. We kept our shape and defended the box really well.

"We want to keep up momentum now. We're unbeaten in the last four league games so we have to keep picking up points and see where we go from there."
