They might be sitting 18th in the table, but Burton Albion's regurgence under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will make it a tough afternoon for MK Dons at the Pirelli Stadium this afternoon.

Winning nine of 13 games since he took over, Hasselbaink's influence has seen the Brewers not only climb out of the relegation zone, but bridge the gap to the midtable pack, putting eight points between themselves and the drop.

They're also seven unbeaten, with six straight wins prior to their midweek 1-1 draw with Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Dons have turned something of a corner of late too, winning two-in-a-row after going five without a victory. But late winners against Accrington and Plymouth at Stadium MK have seen them get back on form, climbing to 14th.

There haven't been many matches between the sides down the years, but it has been the Brewers who have had the upper hand in the three times they have. They shared a 1-1 draw at Stadium MK earlier this season, with Scott Fraser's penalty earning Dons a point against his former club, but their only trip to the Pirelli Stadium came last season as saw Russell Martin's side in total control, but go down 1-0 to Liam Boyce's first half strike.

Ross Joyce will take charge of the game this afternoon, his 25th outing of the season. He is on the brink of a century of yellow cards, having booked 99 so far, flashing four red cards too. His last Dons game came in November 2019 where he oversaw the 3-2 defeat to Rotherham. Matthew Smith and Ravel Cheosiaua will run the lines, with Fourth Official Christopher Husband.

Bookmakers have Dons at 6/4 to win, Burton at 7/4 and 5/2 the draw.
