MK Dons face another difficult test on Saturday when they travel to league leaders Rotherham United.

After losing 3-1 to Portsmouth on Tuesday - a side yet to lose at home this season - Russell Martin’s side head to Yorkshire to take on a Millers side who have lost just one league game since the turn of the year.

There is precious little to tell between the sides down the years. Though Dons blew a 2-0 lead in the reverse fixture at Stadium MK earlier this season to lose 3-2, Dons have four wins to Rotherham’s three, with four draws between them in 11 meetings.

But there have been plenty of historic matches too. The 0-0 draw at Millmoor back in 2006 saw Dons relegated to League Two, while the 4-1 win at the New York Stadium in 2015 saw Dons hit top spot in the Championship. Later that season, Neil Warnock’s Millers ran rampant at Stadium MK, with their 4-0 win seeing them jump out of the relegation zone, with Dons replacing them in the bottom three.

Leigh Doughty will take charge of the game at the New York Stadium, his 26th game of the season. He has dished out 76 yellow cards and two reds this campaign. Dons fans last saw him in their 3-1 win over Portsmouth at Stadium MK. Declan Ford and Alan Clayton will run the line, with Richard Wigglesworth the fourth official.

The bookmakers have Rotherham at 4/7, Dons at 5/1 and 14/5 the draw.
