MK Dons will be eager to maintain their status as League One's form side on Tuesday night when they take on Shrewsbury Town at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

With four wins and a draw in their last five - the best record in the division - Dons have jumped up into 11th spot in the standings and will be eager to continue their great run against a Shrewsbury side who start the day in 17th spot.

Former Dons striker Aaron Wilbraham remains in temporary charge of the side of the Shrews, with Steve Cotterill still recovering from Covid which hospitalised him earlier this month. They have faired well without the manager in the dugout though, winning three of their last five, losing just once.

Tuesday will be the 18th meeting between the sides. Dons have claimed victory in seven of them, with Shrewsbury winning just three, and seven draws. During eight meetings in Shropshire though, Dons have lost just once, and that was their first trip there in April 2007 at Shrewsbury's old Gay Meadow stadium.

When the sides met in November, Shrewsbury were mired in the relegation zone, but since their form has taken a remarkable upturn and they have lost just four games in 16. It was not a game to remember for Dons fans though. After a dismal opening hour, which saw them go a goal behind inside the first minute, then 2-0 down early in the second half, goals from Carlton Morris and Cameron Jerome somehow managed to rescue a point at Stadium MK.

Leigh Doughty takes charge of the game, his 19th outing of the season. He has booked 61 players and sent off two so far. Dons last saw him during the 1-1 draw at Rotherham last February. Running the lines will be Adam Crysell and Matthew Jones, with Fourth Official Mark Russell.

Bookmakers have Dons at 13/8 to claim victory, with Shrewsbury at 9/5 and 11/5 the draw.
