It has not been a great start to the season for either MK Dons nor Northampton Town as the sides lock horns again on Tuesday night.

The teams met prior to the League one campaign kicking off back in September in the EFL Trophy, with Russell Martin's side claiming the spoils in a 3-1 win at Stadium MK - their ninth win in 15 meetings.

Since then, both sides have stuttered in the league, and just a point and a position separate them, with Northampton 18th on 10 points and Dons in 19th with nine.

Dons were held to a 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon on Saturday to claim a fourth point in two games, while Keith Curle's side held on to beat Wigan Athletic 3-2 at the DW Stadium, reversing a trend of back-to-back defeats.

At the PTS Stadium, Northampton have picked up three victories, but only one of those has come in league action, with EFL Cup and EFL Trophy victories making up the other two. Dons' away record meanwhile sees them still seeking a League One victory on the road, having not triumphed since September 2019.

Bookmakers have Dons at 19/20 to claim the win, 14/5 a home win and 13/5 the draw.

Thomas Bramall will officiate the game on Tuesday night. He has booked 14 this season in eight games, sending off one. Dons fans last saw him in March 2019 when he took control of the 1-0 win over Crawley at Stadium MK. Michael Webb and Michael Chard will run the lines, and James Bel will be fourth official.
