Scott Fraser's second goal for MK Dons came from the penalty spot but he probably deserved more leaving the pitch in the 2-0 win over Wigan.

The Scot forced Latics keeper Jamie Jones into two good saves as he bamboozled the visitors' defence in the first half, linking up well with Cameron Jerome too for the striker to test the gloves.

Despite his trickery and skill to get into the box though, his goal came from the penalty spot two minutes after the restart when Tom James downed Matthew Sorinola.

Manager Russell Martin said Fraser was a frustrated man at half time, feeling he should have opened the scoring already, and said his excellent display against Wigan is only a sign of things to come.

"He was so annoyed at half time but we told him it would come, he had to be patient and not try too hard," said Martin. "He slotted the penalty away really nicely.

"There is so much more to come. He feels he should have more assists and goals already but you can see how good a player he is. He's really enjoying what he's doing. He was frustrated with results lately, as we all were, and we need to make sure we all build on tonight."
