Scott Fraser admitted he had eyes for a move to the Championship this summer after leaving Burton Albion.

The Dons midfielder was subject to a lot of interest after leaving the Pirelli Stadium, finally opting to sign a deal at Stadium MK two weeks ago as he returned to League One.

After appearing in both of Burton's wins over Dons last season, Fraser said it was the eagerness from Russell Martin and chairman Pete Winkelman which helped sway his chocie in returning to the third tier.

"I was fortunate as I had interest and offers elsewhere," he said. "I made no secret I wanted to go to the Championship but the clubs weren’t right and neither was the style of football.

"I had to go somewhere where I was going to progress and how much the manager and the chairman wanted me was telling. When you see things like that, you see the stadium, you speak to Luke and Russ and the way they want to play – it felt right and I’m happy to be here.

"If you look at the style of football that Russ has put in and the way they played in a relegation battle it shows how good this team can be. From my own experience, (in the game last season against Burton) they battered us on the ball and I think we’ll do that a lot this season. Russ and Luke like to control the game and it’s about adding that final part. The hardest part is scoring goals so I’m sure we will be fine.

"I scored nine goals by January last season and it’s an ambition of mine to keep scoring more each season and I want to help this team do as well as possible."
