No more talks between Steven Gerrard and MK Dons as manager hunt changes lanes

"I just don't think he fancies it. He's only just got back, he was in the States, I think his family didn't go over fully so it would be a big move then to move down to MK with his family whether they move with kids in school that type of thing.

"I think it's maybe just come too early. I think if it was maybe six months, 12 months down the line maybe would have been a good chance it would have happened.

"I think if he had have taken the job it would have been a good decision in terms of the club.

"When you think of Alex Ferguson he always said don't pick your club pick your chairman and I think that chairman gave Karl Robinson plenty of time... I think he gave Roberto Di Matteo and Paul Ince a chance... so he certainly seems a chairman who gives a young manager a chance so I think it would have been the chairman more than the club that would maybe have enticed him to go there but he's turned that down now but the fact he's actually spoken to a club, I think there'll be more clubs now showing an interest."
