After two years out of the game, Ben Gladwin was beginning to find his feet again - but the coronavirus and football's prolonged postponement has come at a frustrating time for the midfielder.

Sidelined for nearly 900 days with knee injuries at Blackburn, Gladwin signed for Dons on a short-term deal in January and was starting to show his potential in a string of cameo appearances off the bench.

But with the coronavirus pandemic delaying football's return for the foreseeable future, Gladwin admitted it came at a frustrating time for his return.

"I can't lie, I'm frustrated because I'd just spent two years out and was starting to get back playing football again and loving it every day," he said.

"When you're in the middle of the season, you have momentum and you're fit and working on things. But it is what it is, and we have to make the best of this situation. It's a chance to rest a bit more than usual. But when we're back, I'm sure everyone will be fresh and ready to rumble for the final few games."

All of the players have been carrying out personal training regimes given to them by the medical department at the club, and Gladwin says they are making the best of a bad situation.

He continued: "The medical department have been brilliant, they have given us our own plans. We're doing as much as we can. We have different plans for different days, and home gym plans. It's not easy but we're making the best of a bad situation."
