After a few brief cameo appearances last season, Ben Gladwin thinks he is almost at full fitness ahead of the new campaign.

The midfielder spent two years on the sidelines at Blackburn before he made a return to first team action with MK Dons in January. In nine substitute appearances, he made enough of an impression to earn a second contract at Stadium MK, and is now eager to get a full pre-season campaign under his belt to go into the new campaign fitter than ever.

"I feel I'm pretty much there, I'm not a million miles away," he said. "For me, getting through pre-season fit and well and ready for games will be the main thing. I'm doing those things every day and I'm feeling good.

"There is a lot more to come – fitness was still an issue for me. I'd have loved to get more minutes and I think I would have if the season wasn't cut short but that's what happened. Hopefully now I can get up to full speed.

"It has been a few years (since I've had a pre-season). I can't say I love all the running, but knowing my body is getting closer to where it should be to be the best I can be, I'm looking forward to that.

"The main target is to stay fit, get myself through the season and play as many games as I can. I've got personal targets which I keep to myself in terms of goals and assists, but I just want to stay fit and contribute as much as I can."
