Match-winnger Charlie Brown is urging Dons boss Russell Martin to give him a start and that decision was made even harder by netting the decisive goal against Northampton Town on Saturday.

Brown's was a popular goal not just because it came two minutes from time in a 4-3 thriller at Stadium MK, but also because it was his first for the club since signing from Chelsea in January.

The 21-year-old poked home Daniel Harvie's cross to secure the win for the club, and drew praise from his manager who admitted the striker has been so impressive in training of late, and has been desperate to get his first start for the club.

"I'm delighted for Charlie and so is everyone else," said Martin. "He's a fantastic character. He was a long-term signing and he's added to us in the short-term. And he's knocking my door down. All four strikers feel they should be playing, which is great for us. Hopefully they can all continue that.

"He's been really unfortunate coming on, he's looked lively and got into good positions but he's always putting on a chance for someone else! I'm really pleased it fell to him. It's a brave finish between the centre half and the keeper, and instinctive. If he keeps showing that attitude, I've got realy high hopes for him."
