Form at Stadium MK will be vital for MK Dons this season, especially given their drought away from home.

Picking up 2-0 wins in their last two outings at home, Dons have picked up seven points from a possible 12 in Milton Keynes thus far, with just one point coming on their travels.

Taking on AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, Russell Martin's side are eager to put together back-to-back victories for the first time since February and know their home comforts play into their hands.

"Our form at home was good last season, it’s really important to us," said Martin. "We haven’t got the points away from home that we’ve liked, but we’ve not done it yet.

"We’ve been reliant on points at home and we’ve been good here, the players enjoy it here and are comfortable here. The size of the pitch helps us and players know they’ll be in for a tough game when they come here."

After beating Wigan on Tuesday night to climb out of the relegation zone, another victory for Dons on Saturday could see them climb as high as 13th in the standings - a full 10 places clear of where they started the week.

Martin continued: "I think maybe people feel a bit more relaxed, I think we’re consistent in our approach, we follow the same process. I’m sure some guys are more relaxed with where we are at. We have to build on it now and make sure we don’t chill out. No we have to work hard, it started Wednesday and we need to make sure we are ready for the game.

"In our last three home games we’ve had one shot on target at our goal and that went in, that takes a lot of hard work from the whole team. It’s important for the players to feel that and achieve that. Especially for Andrew Fisher too, he’s done really well. I felt we should’ve had a clean sheet at Blackpool too.

"It’s important that we limit teams to little and make sure we keep clean sheets as that gives us a chance to go ahead in games. The players know what they need to do and the longer we keep a clean sheet – we have a real chance – especially the way we play."
