Jordan Houghton could be ruled out until next year after a horror challenge from Barnet's Andrew Wordsworth on Sunday.

The former AFC Wimbledon man had both feet off the ground as he lunged towards Houghton from behind just six-and-a-half minutes into the game but went unpunished by referee Ben Toner.

The Dons midfielder hobbled on for another few minutes before he was replaced by Lasse Sorensen.

Houghton will have a can on his left leg on Wednesday, but manager Russell Martin does not expect to see the midfielder return for a number of weeks.

"I can't believe it wasn't given as a foul, it was a horrible tackle," said Martin. "The fact it has gone unpunished is just outrageous.

"It's not a nice one for Jordan. He's got a scan tomorrow once it has settled down but we don't envisage having him for the next three or four weeks.

"It wasn't a nice tackle, it wasn't needed at that stage of the game, in that area of the pitch but it has happened, and the player has got away with it but Jordan hasn't. I'm really annoyed by it, and Jordan's really upset as well. Hopefully we can get him back fairly soon, but it won't be in the next three or four weeks I don't think."
