  • Liam Manning returns to Portman Road
  • Macauley Bonne fires Ipswich into the lead after a Fisher miscalculation
  • Twine equalises from an excellent free kick
  • Bonne scores his second as Ipswich retake the lead but O’Riley equalises shortly after

53 mins: Another breathless start

From Hladky making a routine save to deny Harry Darling, Ipswich went straight up the other end and Bonne fires just wide.

Lewington then gets his pocket picked and Wes Burns should score but is denied by a wonderful stop from Fisher who tips it onto the post.

O’Riley then breaks and his strike is deflected wide.

Frantic and end-to-end, this one is still very much in the balance.

Ipswich Town restart the second half.

HALF TIME: Ipswich 1-0 MK Dons

Dons ended the half on the front foot, but it’s that Bonne strike after 16 minutes which is the difference between the sides at the interval.

Scott Twine has had Dons’ two best chances of the game, early on which was easily saved by Vaclav Hladky and then with a stunning strike from 35 yards out of nowhere which just went wide. Ethan Robson has also hit the bar for the visitors as they go in behind.

41 mins: Twine inches away from a stunner

That would have been some goal from Scott Twine. Loose ball about 35-yards out, Twine hits it on the spin with Hladky not expecting a strike, he has to scramble but sees Twine’s effort fly into the side netting.

Dons continuing to look good here, but just can’t quite make a move stick.

26 mins: Dons hit the bar

Ethan Robson has rattled the bar from the edge of the box after a fierce strike, joining Mo Eisa and Troy Parrott’s counter attack from an Ipswich corner.

Dons certainly haven’t let going behind impact them too badly, playing some decent stuff and looking dangerous when they roam forwards.

GOAL 16 mins: Ipswich lead out of nothing

Andrew Fisher will be disappointed with himself there as Macauley Bonne lashes in the opener for the hosts. A long punt forwards towards the striker had the keeper unsure whether to come or go, and he wasn’t in either camp. So when the ball dropped for Bonne, he took a touch before lashing it into the largely unguarded net to give Ipswich the lead.

15 mins: The game is starting to settle down a bit

After that hectic opening period, the game has settled into the groove now. There’s still a frantic pace to it, but that opening five minutes was never going to be sustainable.

5 mins: A frantic start

Both sides really going for it in the early stages. Dons have had a couple of brief sights of goal, with Scott Twine already testing Vaclav Hladky’s gloves, while Matt O’Riley skidded an effort wide of the uprights.

Warren O’Hora has already been put into the book for a really late challenge, no arguments there.
