It's show time for MK Dons

Dons have won nine games from 39 this season, but none of them in a row - a streak that sees them four points from safety in the relegation zone.

Wolves visit stadium:mk on Tuesday with Kenny Jackett’s side sitting 12th, a far cry from the play-off spots and far enough outside the relegation zone to effectively call this season quits.

Saturday’s game against Rotherham could prove pivotal for Dons too, with Rotherham heading to Milton Keynes with five wins and a draw from their last six lifting them from relegation favourites to five points clear of danger under new boss Neil Warnock.

For Robinson, still aggrieved by refereeing decisions results going awry earlier in the year, he’s called on his players to win both games and alleviate the pressure and threat of the drop.

“This is not a time to worry about the past,” he said. “We’ve got to look ahead, and I’ve told them to go out and do what they’ve not done all season: win back-to-back games.

“Now it’s show time. This is eyeballs out. All the politics are going under the carpet. All the criticism? Under the carpet. All the praise? Under the carpet. We’re stripping back as far as we can and run as fast as we can. We can sleep in the summer.

“We are good enough.”

While Wolves have little to play for ahead of their trip to stadium:mk, Robinson refuses to believe it’ll be any easier.

He said: “Any team is beatable. Kenny is a winner. He’s already said he’s planning for next season. He’s in the process of turning the club around. It’s refreshing, but his players are playing for their place next year.

“I’ve not even looked at where they are in the league, I don’t really worry about that. I look at the way they play. We try and tactically stop them, but there will be element we can exploit. Wolves won’t be coming here to sit on the beach, that’s for sure.”

Meanwhile, the Millers’ run of 16 points from a possible 18 has seen them overhaul and dump Dons into the bottom three.

Robinson though isn’t looking at other results just yet, but Rotherham’s form has left him to reevaluate how much Dons will need to avoid the drop in May.

“Rotherham’s games have been very unique,” he said. “I heard Neil Warnock say everything is falling for them right now. The ball just isn’t falling for us at the moment.

“But if you start worrying about others, teams like Wolves will love it because they’ll think we’re not 100 per cent focussed on them. And we have to be focussed on Wolves. We’re really ready.

“I want to stay here, and I know the players do too. We’ve spoken about what we feel we need, but we might need to look at that again.”
