Cameron Jerome scored his sixth of the season as Dons picked up a point against Peterborough United on Tuesday night - but it could have been all three.

Dominant from whistle-to-whistle, Lasse Sorensen and Carlton Morris both had great efforts close in the opening 15 minutes, but it would be Jonson Clarke-Harris to open the scoring for Peterborough on 25 minutes against the run of play.

Undeterred though, Dons reacted well and hemmed the visitors in in the second half, and were rewarded with an equaliser but they were made to wait as Jerome slotted home Scott Fraser's pass with 13 minutes to go.

The result sees Dons climb to 15th in League One, though level on points with Plymouth - Saturday's opponents - in 19th place.

Following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Burton Albion, Russell Martin made two changes to his side – bringing back Matthew Sorinola after suspension in place of Ben Gladwin, while Lasse Sorensen came back in for Andrew Surman.

Having conceded early in games regularly this season, it should have been a reversal of fortunes for Dons just four minutes in as Lasse Sorensen headed over Scott Fraser's cross. The hosts would dominate the opening proceedings, with Peterborough unable to get near Fraser or Sorinola as both Cameron Jerome and Carlton Morris had sniffs of goal but didn't really test Christy Pym.

Failing to capitalise on their advantage though, Peterborough came close when Flynn Clarke forced a save from Andrew Fisher before Jonson Clarke-Harris headed home on 25 minutes against the run of play.

The tone of the game changed, in large part from referee David Rock, who booked as many players on Dons' bench as he did on the pitch after a string of dubious calls, and then booked Posh boss Darren Ferguson as the sides emerged from the tunnel for the restart.

While Dons let the first half slip out of their grasp at times, there was none of that threat in the second period. Fraser and Kasumu continued to run the show for the home side, but Peterborough's stern back-three were unwilling to give anything up.

It looked like it was going to be another one of those nights for the home side, especially when a penalty appeal for a foul on Fraser was waved away, but with 13 minutes to go they got their reward.

Kasumu won the ball back near the left corner flag and found Fraser who took a couple of touches before sliding Jerome through on goal, and the striker coolly slotted home the equaliser.

Unlike on Saturday when Dons looked nervous after drawing level, they looked the side capable of going on to take all three points but Regan Poole could only come close to finding a winner.
