The 23-year-old signed for Dons on transfer deadline day for remainder of the season, but is yet to find the back of the net for Karl Robinson’s side.

Ironically, his last goal came against Dons in the reverse fixture at Loftus Road, where Rangers took 70 minutes to eventually break their opponents down before running riot to win 3-0.

Saturday will be only the second time the sides have met at stadium:mk, with three previous games taking place in London.

In their previous meeting, back in 2011, Dean Bowditch thought he’d done enough to book Dons a place in the FA Cup fourth round but Heidar Helguson’s 90th minute equaliser sent the tie to a replay.

Dons go into the game with a spate of late heartbreakers forcing them closer to the relegation zone. Goals for Middlesbrough, Huddersfield and Blackburn have come after 85 minutes, leaving them just three points above the drop zone.

QPR meanwhile find themselves comfortably mid-table, sat 11th though a shot at the play-offs looks a bit out of reach now, 11 points away.

Along with the missing Emmanuel-Thomas, Dons will be without Carl Baker, who nears a return to first team action but won’t be ready for the weekend. Matt Upson also remains sidelined with a knee injury, though keeper David Martin could be fit again after missing the last two with a hamstring problem.
