Antony Kay still looks for MK Dons' results on a Saturday, and specifically to check on his former Dean Lewington.

Kay played alongside Lewington for four years between 2012 and 2016, racking up 161 appearances - most of which would have been alongside the skipper in defence.

Now plying his trade in non-league after a deal to sign for Bury went unfulfilled in the summer, Kay praised Lewington for his longevity at the club.

"I always keep an eye on MK," he said. "I've got fond memories and I always look to see how they're doing, and to see if Lewie is still playing every week, which he is!

"When you look at him, people say he's a part of the furniture, he's getting too old but every manager, apart from one, has picked him. You must have to be a decent player to play under all of them.

"New managers always want new players or new ideas, and Lewie has been involved in every team. The amount of games he has played is unbelievable.

"As long as he keeps looking after himself, he'll keep going. If you are still putting it in, and he feels he can keep going, good luck to him!"
