Newport Pagnell Town’s County Cup run came to an unfortunate end on Tuesday night as Windsor converted a stoppage time penalty to reach the final.

The decisive spot kick in the fourth minute of time added on was duly converted by Robert Lazarczuk to make it 3-2 to the home side, ending Swans’ progress at the semi final stage.

Newport’s Sam Parrish had the first decent effort of the evening, testing Windsor keeper Justin Courtnage from long range.

But 10 minutes later, the home side took the lead as Kyle Lucas netted to put Windsor 1-0 to the good.

Six minutes later, Newport were given a mountain to climb as Lazarczuk scored his first of the night, doubling Windsor’s advantage at 2-0.

It was a lead they’d comfortably hold until half time, but a rejuvenated Newport side emerged for the second period and they pulled a goal back six minutes into the half through Dave Baker.

Newport sensed they could pull themselves level, and did so 10 minutes later from the penalty spot as Dom Lawless restored parity at 2-2.

But just as the tie was heading for extra time, Windsor were awarded a penalty of their own in stoppage time, with Lazarczuk converting to send them through to the final.
