FULL TIME: Fleetwood Town 1-1 MK Dons

Key Events

  • Dons’ final away game of the season
  • Russell Martin’s side looking to make it four wins in a row

25 mins: Decent save from Cairns

Matthew Sorinola lively again on the ball, spins his man and looks as though he was going to slide in Fraser but he goes himself and fires in towards the near post but Cairns gets down well to deny him.

17 mins: Grigg just wide

The ball just wouldn’t sit for for Sorinola after McEachran’s brilliant ball over the top, it eventually comes to Grigg who fires wide.

It’s all getting a bit nasty out there, a lot of nasty challenges flying in at the moment from both sides as Kasumu has gone into the book.

12 mins: Scrappy so far

Aside from Fleetwood’s chance which was headed onto the post, there hasn’t been much other goal-mouth action. Dons have had a lot of the ball as usual but haven’t managed to really give Alex Cairns anything to worry about.

Scott Fraser has had the ball in the net but Sorinola was deemed offside in the build-up, much to the dismay of Russell Martin.

8 mins: An early chance for Fleetwood

They’ve barely had the ball in the opening exchanges but Wes Burns has climbed highest to the back-post corner to head against the post.

MK Dons kick the game off.

More impact from Matt O’Riley

Midfielder Matt O’Riley believes he is making more of an impression on the way Dons are playing. He’s admitted he’s frustrated goals have dried up a bit for him, but with Will Grigg and Scott Fraser firing on all cylinders, he’s more than happy with how the season is finishing.

Remember when away games were basically a write-off?! It’s not quite like that for MK Dons any more, thank goodness! Today is the last of Dons’ road games this season and Russell Martin wants to end on a high.

“We’ve changed our feelings going into an away game,” he said. “It’s our last away game of the season, I want to make the most of it. We can look forward to being together one last time before coming back to Stadium MK.”
