LEAGUE action took a backseat to the county cup on Saturday as most sides did battle in the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup second round.

Olney Town enjoyed a week off from their United Counties League Division One struggles to edge past Wolverton Town of South Midlands League Division Two by a single goal.

And New Bradwell St Peter’s SML Division One troubles seemed far away as they beat Aylesbury Reserves by the odd goal in seven, while Stony Stratford Town’s good form continued with a 2-0 away win at Stewkley.

On the league front, Cranfield United were held to a 2-2 draw by Winslow United in SML Division One.

Newport Pagnell Town had the weekend off altogether, but return to UCL Premier Division action with a trip to Yaxley on Tuesday night.
