Lincoln City will be a tough proposition for many League One clubs this season according to MK Dons boss Russell Martin.

Their 2-1 win over Dons at Stadium MK on Saturday is the fourth win in five games for Michael Appleton's side since the season got underway.

Despite losing their first game of the season though, Martin felt his side controlled most of the game and limited a very good Lincoln side who he backed to do good things this term.

"They've not really had many chances apart from the penalty," he said. "They just frustrated us. They've worked on what we were doing, they're really good out of possession, and we just didn't show enough confidence.

"Lincoln will be a hard team to beat, they'll be very decent at this level. Doncaster's result today as well makes our point there look even better. It's a long season, there's a lot to work on, we have to trust the process. We've played two good teams so far, and they have provided tough tests.

"In the four games, teams have posed us a different problem but all of them have accepted we'll have more of the ball. They were a little different to how we expected them to turn up, pressed higher than they have done, but we have to make sure we find the answers quicker. It will change week on week."
