Playing football in front of thousands at Stadium MK again is still a long way off, according to Dons boss Russell Martin.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to keep everyone indoors, delaying the return of football all over the world, Martin believes it could be even longer before fans are able to come back to stadia to watch the games.

Dons are still due to play four of their nine remaining games this season at home, but Martin predicts they will be played without supporters in the ground, if at all.

"I don't think we will be able to go back to a normal way of life very quickly, so I think we will have to get used to a new 'normal' if you like," he said. "I cannot see football returning in the way it was, so I think playing in front of the fans is still a long way off, especially if the virus is still out there.

"Keeping people safe has to be the main priority at the moment, so I think bringing a lot of people into a relatively small space would be the wrong thing to do, and that's the harsh reality of it.

"No-one has the right answers because everyone is new to this scenario. Of course we all want to be playing in front of supporters again, but I don't know how that will happen at the moment."
