Russell Martin does not want to play matches without supporters amidst coronavirus fears.

As covid-19 continues to cause chaos all over the world, the first Premier League fixture was hit this morning (Wednesday) as Arsenal's visit to Manchester City was postponed as a precaution.

Games in Italy and Spain though have been played without supporters in a bid to continue competition. However, Dons boss Martin would sooner see matches delayed to ensure fans get to see their sides in action.

"I don't think players want to play behind closed doors, nor do the fans," he said. "And it causes business problems it causes to football clubs if it happens. I'd rather they delayed it than made us play behind closed doors. But hopefully it won't come to that.

"We're just listening to what the guidelines are. For us, we need to keep working, keep improving and we'll do what we're told. It's an issue we're aware of and concerned with but it's not impacting much on what we're doing."
