Not many players escaped praise after MK Dons' victory over Sunderland on Saturday.

Winning away from home for the first time in League One in 14 months, Dons showed a different side to their game at the Stadium of Light as they had to cope out of possession late in the day defending their slender 2-1 advantage.

Ben Gladwin was playing in a position Dons fans won't have seen him in often since arriving at the club back in January, but his berth at left wing-back saw him play a key role, and found the head of Cameron Jerome to equalise in the first half before coming off with 14 minutes to go.

Russell Martin said: "Ben has played there a lot playing left wing, and he was outstanding. He's completely knackered, he hasn't played a lot of minutes recently."

On Jerome's header, Gladwin added: "What a header! What a header. We've got a really good aerial presence so hopefully we'll score a few more of those and add that to out game."

Martin continued his praise of his players, saying: "Matthew Sorinola showed a different side of his game, and was incredible. When you've got someone like Cameron Jerome leading the line, and the likes of Richard Keogh and Dean Lewington, that experience and keeping everyone energised was incredible.

"The only bad part was losing Louis Thompson to a bad-looking hamstring injury, because he was outstanding I thought. Overall, I'm delighted with all of them."

Keeper Andrew Fisher made several excellent saves and drew praise from his manager, and also from his former Blackburn team-mate Gladwin.

"He was different class," added Gladwin. "Some of his saves were incredible. He has come on so much since I was with him at Blackburn. He's a proper man now, he's taking charge in games and he's making a huge impact."
