Russell Martin has poured cold water on rumours linking former Burton Albion midfielder Scott Fraser.

The Scot was a key man for the Brewers last season, netting five goals from midfield as Albion finished 12th.

The 25-year-old left the club at the end of the season, and is currently a free agent. But despite rumours linking Fraser with a move to Stadium MK, Dons boss Martin said there was 'no news' regarding a proposed deal.

He said: "Scott is a player I really like, he’s a really good player at this level. He played really well against us unfortunately last season. At the minute there is nothing in it, he’s a player I admire and is someone I admire. For us, there is no news in regards to him and us at the moment."

Last week, Pete Winkelman admitted the club had made a record-breaking bid to bring a player to the club, but so far there has been no further movement on a replacement for striker Rhys Healey, who left for Toulouse two weeks ago.

Following the loan signing of Lasse Sorensen on Friday, Martin said there has been no new movements in the transfer front for his side, and said he has to learn to be more patient when it comes to transfer negotiations.

"We are working hard on it, we’re delighted with who we’ve got in and Lasse shows that. We need some depth, we’re looking for top performers in positions and we’ll keep working at that.

"I have to accept that you need patience, I can be pretty impatient but if that means I get who I want – I have to accept that.

"I’d love to give you a list of targets we’re after but that doesn’t help anyone. The people we want, they are clear we are seriously interested in them. The reason this takes time is because they are who we really want, we just have to agree things with the clubs."
