Russell Martin hopes he can repeat the performance he saw against Peterborough United earlier this season at the Weston Homes Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).

While Dons could only share the spoils in a 1-1 against Posh a month ago, few could argue it was Martin's side who deserved to take the victory, despite having to come from behind to cancel out Johnson Clarke-Harris' opener.

And the Dons boss hopes to play a similar game away from home in the reverse fixture.

"I was really pleased with the performance, we limited them to very little," he said. "It was disappointing that we conceded and were chasing the game though. I was impressed with Peterborough, I really like how they play.

"I watched them against Lincoln last weekend an thought they were excellent again. They've got the league's top scorer, who is in a really good vein of form and they truyst him to do the business. They can play aggressive attacking football, from a manager I really know and respect.

"It will be a tough game, like it was at our place but if we attack it with the same mentality and intensity as we did the one before, we'll go there full of confidence."

Since the draw in December, Peterborough have played just twice - another 1-1 draw with Lincoln before a crushing 5-1 win over Portsmouth in the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday night, and sit fifth in the League One standings. Dons have played five times since, and are four unbeaten heading to Cambridgeshire tomorrow.

Crucially though, away form appears to have turned a corner in recent months for Dons, losing just two of their last 10 on the road.

"It has been a nice turnaround hasn't it?" Martin continued. "I think the players believe in themselves now and they know what it takes. We saw it on Tuesday night, the hard work they would put in for each other.

"It has been the biggest sign for me of the growth of this group and how they approach things. It has been difficult during the pandemic to do that because we're changing in different rooms, we can only have meetings with a certain number of people, we're not eating together – all of it makes it difficult but they're doing it through their performances."
