A permanent move to MK Dons was never on the agenda when Josh McEachran first enquired about training with the club.

The 28-year-old penned a deal at Stadium MK until the end of the season after being released by Birmingham City at the end of January.

After seeking fitness following his return from cruciate ligament damage last year, McEachran turned to Dons and has been training with the squad for a few weeks.

But with another injury setback for David Kasumu, Russell Martin moved for the midfielder.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity that the gaffer has given me and I just can’t wait to get started,” McEachran told iFollow MK Dons after putting pen to paper at Stadium MK.

“I came here to keep fit but everyone has been fantastic with me. The way the Gaffer wants to play is suited to me. I like to get on the ball as much as possible and dictate play so it felt like a perfect fit.

“I have been out for a little while now but this is the fittest and strongest I’ve felt for a long time. Hopefully I can get back to playing regular football and help the team out.”
