Mike Williamson’s first game in charge of MK Dons at Stadium MK pitches him against a former team-mate when Bradford City arrive in MK1 tomorrow.
Interim Bantams boss Kevin McDonald played alongide Williamson at Wolverhampton Wanderers for a brief spell in 2016, but both have found themselves in charge of League Two sides in recent weeks.

Hide AdMcDonald took over the reins following Mark Hughes’ sacking from Valley Parade earlier this month, and has led City to two wins and a draw from his three league matches in charge. It’s a run which has seen Bradford climb to 11th in the standings.
Williamson meanwhile was Gateshead manager until this time last week, when he took over at Stadium MK following the sacking of Graham Alexander. While he lost his first game in charge on Saturday, going down 1-0 to Accrington Stanley, extending Dons’ win-less run in the league to nine games, his first game at home will be one he is eager to win.
It has been nearly five years since the sides last crossed paths, coming in 2018 and in League One. The Bantams’ 2-0 win over Dons at Valley Parade in April 2018 all but relegated the side under Keith Millen’s watch following Dan Micciche’s sacking earlier in the month. Bradford won both games that season, with a 4-1 win at Stadium MK coming after Aaron Tshibola was sent off after just four minutes for Robbie Neilson’s side. In 16 total meetings, Bradford have won ten of them to Dons’ five, with a single draw.
Referee Matt Corlett takes charge of the game. In seven matches this season, he has shown 29 yellows and three reds, and awarded four penalties. Taking more games in League Two this term, Corlett has predominantly been a National League referee, and has never taken charge of either side. Andy Bennett and Shaun Farrer will run the lines with Fourth Official Kevin Morris.
According to Sky Bet, Dons are 5/4 to end their win-less run on Tuesday, while Bradford are 2/1 to claim victory, with the draw at 23/10.
