Dele Alli’s spectacular season continued on Sunday night as he was named the Football League Young Player of the Year.
Alli received the award at the gala ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Sunday evening in front of over 600 guests from clubs, sponsors and the football industry.
Alli beat competition from former Dons loanee now Patrick Bamford, now at Middlesbrough, and Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond to claim the overall Young Player of the Year Award.
The 19-year-old has gone from strength to strength this season, after busting onto the scene 18 months ago. He has scored 16 goals from the centre of midfield this season, including the sixth against Leyton Orient on Saturday, and completed a move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in January.
