Dean Bowditch has signed a new deal with MK Dons to keep him at stadium:mk for another year.
The 27-year-old was set to become a free agent in the summer, but has agreed terms to stay at the club into a fourth season.
Since signing from Yeovil, Bowditch has twice been the club’s top scorer but has seen his season heavily hindered by injury this time around, limiting him to just seven appearances this term.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” said Bowditch. “After the season I’ve had, it has been difficult for both myself and the staff so I thank them so much for putting that trust in me and giving me another year’s deal.
“I would never go anywhere. I feel I’ve got a point to prove both next season and in the remainder of this season. I want to get out there and show what I can do because I’ve missed a lot of this year and people want to see me out there.”
“I’m ecstatic that we’ve been able to keep hold of Dean for another year,” said manager Karl Robinson. “He’s an integral part of the group so to make sure he’ll be here next season is big business for us.
“He’s had an unpredictable year but for us to acquire his services for a fourth season is important, as you’ve seen in the games since he’s been back. He bolsters the ambition of the club and he fits perfectly into the mold of player I want at this club.”
