Bromley part ways with boss Woodman ahead of MK Dons trip
MK Dons take on the Ravens on Tuesday night at Stadium MK
League Two champions Bromley have agreed to part company with long-term boss Andy Woodman just a few days before their trip to Stadium MK.
Woodman guided the Ravens to the fourth tier title last season, pipping Dons to the post by a single point on the final day as their pair fought for automatic promotion.
Like Dons though, Bromley have struggled to find their feet in League One, and sit 23rd in the table with eight points.
Woodman’s departure comes after five years in charge at Hayes Lane, but the 4-0 home defeat to Leicester City proved to be the final straw.
Bromley host Peterborough United on Saturday before heading to Stadium MK on Tuesday for the rearranged game which was set to take place last month but was postponed due to international call-ups.
Assistant manager Byron Webster will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is put in place.
In a statement, Bromley owner and chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves said: “It is no surprise that this club has reached new heights and Andy has been fundamental in helping us achieve that.
“I would like to reassure supporters that we will be entering this new chapter with the same ambition and determination to keep moving this football club forward.
“On a personal note, Andy has been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him all the best in the future.”
