MK DONS look set for their biggest home crowd so far this season on Tuesday night when Premier League Sunderland visit in the third round of the Capital One Cup.
The north east side have currently sold around 2,000 tickets for the tie, taking the total amount to over 6,000, with sales expected to increase further in the days leading up to the game.
While Dons travel to Bury in League 1 on Saturday, Martin O’Neill’s men face a long trip to West Ham, looking for their first victory in 12 Premier League matches.
Drawing all three top flight games so far this season, Sunderland’s only win to date came in the League Cup last month when they saw off League 2 Morecambe 2-0 to reach the third round – on the same night that Karl Robinson’s men beat Blackburn 2-1 at stadium:mk.
A crowd of 5,873 watched that game, but Dons’ biggest home attendance so far this season came on the opening day when 7,409 watched the 2-0 win against Oldham.
